Improving tree biomass models through crown ratio patterns and incomplete data sources

چکیده
Aboveground biomass quantification is essential for determining carbon stocks in forests. Multiple tree models are available, but estimations can be biased outside the fitting range. This due to lack of data larger trees, mainly because cost and time required. study proposed a methodology based on crown ratio (crown biomass: total aboveground biomass) modelling. The original used existing Spain have been notably extended by inclusion stem from First Spanish National Forest Inventory other databases, covering better size variability. analysis against (d2h), allowed us distinguish three different patterns: an increasing pattern, constant one, decreasing pattern. A new system was fitted simultaneously species, including model according identified model, model. Using this methodology, were 29 most important species Spain. result more accurate unbiased predictions biomass, realistic biomass. means robust flexible with possibility using sources. absence information not obstacle component percentage Moreover, pattern allows improving accuracy estimation beyond range sizes (2–70 cm) which these fitted.

Tree crown ratio models for multi - species and multi - layered stands of southeastern British Columbia
The ratio of live crown length to tree height (crown ratio; CR) is often used as an important predictor variable for tree level growth equations, particularly for multi-species and multi-layered stands. Also, CR indicates tree vigour and can be an important habitat variable. Measurement of CR for each tree can be time-consuming and difficult to obtain in very dense stands and for very tall tree...

Efficiency of Centralized Structures in Data Envelopment Analysis Ratio Models
This paper investigates the centralized resource allocation with centralized structures by using the data envelopment analysis-ratio (DEA-R) models. To this end, it proposes a method to determine the resource allocation of centralized structures such that the ratio of inputs to outputs are minimized.
متن کاملEncoding Through Patterns: Regression Tree-Based Neuronal Population Models
Although the existence of correlated spiking between neurons in a population is well known, the role such correlations play in encoding stimuli is not. We address this question by constructing pattern-based encoding models that describe how time-varying stimulus drive modulates the expression probabilities of population-wide spike patterns. The challenge is that large populations may express an...
